About the Author
I did introduce myself in the home page, albeit in a largely pretentious way. But if you want more, I suppose I can try.
I am a 30 something year old man living in San Diego county with my wife, paying an exorbitantly expensive Southern California mortgage, and currently substitute teaching in order to not really cover it. (Thanks, Sydney.)
Not enough? Okay.
At various points in my life I have: been a therapist working with autistic children, taught at a ‘military-style’ school (it was technically unaffiliated), worked on plays at an unofficial theater club at my university, placed third in a slam poetry competition, spent a long October night circling a bonfire with some witches, been a Lyft driver, studied abroad in Germany, spent countless hours playing D&D in campaigns that my friends and I still talk about, been forced to hold a dead eel because I did a fraternity’s initiation challenge wrong, read NPR’s entire list of 150 best science fiction and fantasy books, been the town crier at a renaissance faire, been a former huge Neil Gaiman fan (god damn it, seriously), waltzed to metal at my Halloween-themed wedding (photo from it to the left), and played in the same Minecraft world with my friends on-and-off for nearly 8 years, at which point I wrote a tongue-in-cheek history for it in an in-game book.
I am, I think, a weird person.
Really, I’ve stored up all the experiences that a lot of people would normally discard and held onto them, in some hope that this will enliven my storytelling. Is it working? I don’t know; read my stuff.
Since you got this far I’ll tell you a secret: There’s a hidden link to a free story somewhere on this site. Good luck, if you’re even motivated.
