“Crave” Chapters 1 & 2

Chapter 1 It wants you that Thing in the shadows unwanted It Calls Calls Calling remember telling It “Maybe.” giving the barest bones of Affection It fights for what scraps It’s given and now It’s coming to consume the hand (so foolish) to feed run from It run run run from all It’d do for you to own you run run run and hide and hope It moves to another meager sign of possibility Chapter 2 It is older than you It walked this world while you were the dream of an unformed womb It watched through windows when your grandparents left the lights on It saw them kiss Its claws scratched the glass, as if by slashing the shell that separated It from humans It could cut Its way into your world once and again, across Its long life It will try not to want It always fails You’ve met It the boogeyman the monster in the closet or under the bed what you feared without understanding but It understands you and It loves what It understands
